We use two safety commands to run the range:
CLEAR: "Range is hot". It's safe to shoot.
Make sure you are straddling the black line before loading an arrow.
Do not load an arrow until you have heard the CLEAR command and everyone is behind the shooting line.
ALWAYS double check to make sure no one is on the range before loading an arrow.
ALWAYS point your arrow down range.
Remove your arrow from the string if you need to step off the line.
PULL: It is safe to walk down range to collect your arrows.
Be mindful of other archers waiting to pull their arrows.
Make sure no one has an arrow loaded before calling PULL
Nock an arrow before releasing the string. A release without an arrow is called a dry fire. This could damage the bow or cause injury.
You must straddle the line before touching arrows.
Arrow must point down range, always.
Bow must be vertical with lower limb in front of you.
Ensure no one is standing behind when you pull arrows.
X10 Academy is a private training facility.
