The X10 Pathway to Archery Success

Every archer’s journey looks a little different.

Some people come to X10 simply to enjoy archery, learn a new skill, and have fun. Others arrive with competitive goals and want structured training, tournament preparation, or a pathway toward collegiate, national, or even Olympic-level archery.

Many begin recreationally and later discover that they want to compete.

There is no single “right” pathway. Whether you are a homeschool student earning PE credit, a family looking for a rewarding activity, an adult returning to the sport, or an athlete with ambitious goals, we will help you choose the pathway that fits you now—and adjust it as your goals develop.

Start Your Archery Journey

Most new archers begin with one of the following:

Try Archery

A beginner-friendly introduction for ages 12 and older. Try Archery is a great way to experience the sport before committing to additional training or membership.

Private Lessons

Available for ages 5 through adult. Private lessons provide individualized instruction and are the recommended starting point for younger archers, athletes with specific goals, and anyone who prefers one-on-one coaching.

From there, you may choose a recreational, developmental, competitive, or PE-credit pathway.

Recreational Archery Pathway

This pathway is ideal for archers who want to enjoy the sport, develop their skills, and participate without the pressure of competition.

After your introductory session, you may choose a membership that provides:

Archers who complete four private lessons may also become eligible to join GAP or Junior GAP classes for continued guidance and structured skill development.

Competition is always optional. You can enjoy archery entirely recreationally for as long as you choose.

Competitive Archery Pathway

This pathway is designed for archers who want to train more intentionally, prepare for tournaments, and work toward higher levels of performance.

Most competitive archers begin with Try Archery or private lessons, followed by one of two options:

Membership Plus Additional Lessons

Choose an X10 membership for range access, equipment use, and group instruction, then add private lesson packages for more individualized coaching and tournament preparation.

After completing four private lessons, eligible archers may join GAP or Junior GAP classes for additional structured development.

Archer Success Program

The Archer Success Program combines:

This is the most comprehensive pathway for archers who want consistent coaching and a clear development plan.

Homeschool and PE Credit Pathway

Students seeking physical education credit follow a structured training pathway through the Archer Success Program.

The program provides the instruction, practice expectations, progress tracking, and documentation needed to support PE-credit requirements.

Students may participate recreationally or pursue competitive goals while completing the program.

Your Path Can Change

You do not have to decide at the beginning how far you want to go.

You may start with one Try Archery session, continue recreationally, and later decide to compete. You may begin with ambitious goals and later choose a more relaxed pace. Your pathway can grow and change as your interests, skills, and goals develop.

Wherever you begin, the X10 coaching team will help you identify the next step and walk the pathway with you.
